What is the SIC?
The SIC stands for the United Kingdom Standard Industrial Classification of economic activities, or UK SIC. This is a Standard Industrial Classification whose purpose is to classify companies by type of economic activity.
Over the years there have been several SIC classifications, the latest being the one created in 2007.
How are the SIC codes structured?
The United Kingdom Standard Industrial Classification of economic activities are structured according to their section and activity, with the activities classified with letters and the SICs with 5 numeric digits
